Who we are

Established in 2020, Tasi to Table (TTT) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation registered in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands that engages the youth through teaching fishing methodologies, boating safety, protecting and safeguarding of our environment, and mental health.

TTT’s flagship offering is its two-year student program for high school students, where upon completion the students receive an elective credit towards their graduation. Over the course of these two years, TTT’s student members gain hands-on experience with fishing and connect and learn more from people with careers in the ocean and adjacent to the ocean.

Throughout the year, TTT also hosts several fishing derbies, where all profits earned go back into TTT’s program. These derbies include the TTT Mix Classic, the student-led Wahoo in the Marianas, and the newest derby the CNMI Reel Heroes International Fishing Derby.

Meet the Team

  • Gerald "Gene" Weaver (& Sophia)

    PRESIDENT & CO-FOUNDER

It is a passion of mine to pass along knowledge and life lessons to future generations, just as my elders did for me. I’d like to see our program expand into the CNMI’s private schools to continue to show students ocean-adjacent career opportunities in and outside of the CNMI.

  • Dan Wollak

    VICE PRESIDENT

In 2009, I moved to Saipan where I developed a love for spearfishing, trolling, and bottom fishing. I wanted to pass that love of fishing to my students at Marianas High School, so I joined the TTT team in 2019. I am proud to be part of this amazing organization that facilitates positive experiences for our youth and look forward to its continued growth.

  • Alexandro Castro, Jr.

    TREASURER & CO-FOUNDER

As a lifelong fisherman, I saw an opportunity to fill a need practical, hands-on life skills for high school students in the CNMI. I envision that TTT can expand its horizons past the CNMI with TTT chapters throughout Micronesia.

  • Marita Iglecias

    SECRETARY & OFFICE MANAGER

I became a part of Tasi to Table not knowing about fishing, but excited to learn alongside the students during our 8-month program. What makes TTT unique are the officers, advisors and volunteers who share the same passion for fishing and passing along their knowledge to the next generation. My hope for the future of TTT is that our program will become available to all ages.

  • Joshua Santos

    PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER & MEMBER

Joining TTT was an opportunity to learn more about the joys of fishing while helping the organization promote its commitment to enriching the youth. I am grateful to be able to provide my skills through managing TTT’s magazine, social media and press while being part of such an important cause.

  • Derik Reyes

    MEMBER

Whenever I get a chance to talk about TTT I get overwhelmed with excitement and joy. But I've learned the best way to explain it is just by joining it! TTT doesn't just focus on fishing- it broadens your perspective to the types of career opportunities we have here in the CNMI. Each year we have grown in the number of participants and achievements. This program is a great opportunity for the lives and futures of our students.

  • James Roberto

    MEMBER

As a fisherman, I always joined TTT’s fishing derbies because I believe in TTT’s mission and their commitment to our youth. When the opportunity came up to join the organization, I took it because I want to do more and give back to the community. I want to help TTT with giving the students hands- on experience with cleaning and fileting fish and teaching the students about different fishing techniques, lures, and more.
